One of Jim Carrey’s best movies is being made into a TV series

No, they’re not bringing back Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.

Oscar-winning 2004 romantic-drama Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which starred Jim Carrey opposite Kate Winslet is slated to be made into a television series.

According to reports in the Hollywood Reporter, a spin-off TV show has been picked up by Anonymous Content who will producer the show alongside True Detective executive producer Richard Brown. These are also the guys behind the Emmy-Award winning series Mr. Robot – so there are a lot of reasons to be excited by Eternal Sunshine on the small screen.

The movie, which won the Best Original Screenplay award at the Oscars, centres around a couple who continually decide to erase one another from each other’s memories – but find each other once more. It’s pretty heavy going, so we’re intrigued as to how it will translate to television.

Other details are scant, but there are rumours that Zev Borow of NBC action-comedy Chuck will be signed on to pen the script for the show. There have been no reports that either Jim Carrey or Kate Winslet will feature in the television series.
