What to expect in Only Murders season 6

Only Murders in the Building has a return date, and for the first time the podcasting trio will be solving a case a long way from the Arconia.

Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short) and Mabel (Selena Gomez) travel to the UK to investigate a new murder, with the case brought to them by Cinda Canning, Tina Fey’s true-crime podcast host.

As well we'll get a look into the reason the three of them ended up in each other’s lives in the first place.

A first look at the London setting was released alongside the date, confirming a full change of scenery for a show that has spent five seasons inside one New York apartment building.

Season 6 lands on 8 December, with new episodes weekly on Tuesdays, and it comes with a new name to match its new home: Only Murders in London.

Where To Watch Only Murders In Ireland

The 8 December date announced by Variety is for Hulu, which does not operate as a standalone service here.

In Ireland the series has streamed on Disney+, so that is where Irish viewers should expect Season 6 to land, although a confirmed Irish date has not been published alongside the US announcement.

It is worth watching the schedules either way, in the same way you would for new films on Netflix Ireland each month.

A December release puts the show squarely in Christmas-viewing territory, and the London switch finally gives a five-season comfort watch somewhere new to go.

Canning’s return also ties it back to the pilot, at a time when Irish audiences are still turning out in numbers for the best true crime shows on streaming.
