Outraged Family Guy fans launch online petition to bring back recently deceased character (SPOILER)

It's already been signed by over 80,000 people...

Earlier this week JOE brought you the unexpected news that Family Guy creators had killed off one of the show’s most beloved characters, a move that has now inspired the crazy people who live inside the internet to take matters into their own slacktivist hands.

That’s right, Family Guy fans have set up a online petition to bring back Brian Griffin the fake talking dog. It’s already been signed by over 80,000 people and you can check it out here.

According to Aaron Thompson, the petition’s organiser, “the writers of family guy [sic] didn’t just kill off one of their creations, they killed off the dog who has lived in my house for the last 15 years. They killed the dog we all have come to love. They killed America’s dog!”

JOE has dealt with the pain of losing a beloved family pet ourselves, having asked our own dog to play dead a little over two years ago. He’s still doing it.

Good dead dog Finbar, good dead dog.

Rumours are rife that Brian, Stewie’s long-time partner in crime and the show’s voice of reason, is to return in the not too distant future but, in the meantime, the show’s writers have created Vinny the “pussy hound” to tie things over. Say hello to the new Griffin family pet, voiced by Tony Sirico (The Sopranos’ Paulie):
