People had exactly one reaction to the new teacher on tonight’s Derry Girls

Derry Girls

Welcome, Ms. De BrĂșn.

After making its long-anticipated return last week, Derry Girls was back this evening with the second episode of its second season.

Key to this episode, besides of course the return of Uncle Colm, was the introduction of a certain Ms. De BrĂșn — the new, hip English teacher at Our Lady Immaculate College, who seemed to be at least partially inspired by Robin Williams’ character in Dead Poets Society. After all, she had all the girls whacking sliotars while yelling about stuff that they hate.

In Michelle’s case, that was “Mass.”

Ms. De BrĂșn, played by Derry actress Judith Roddy, certainly captured the attention of those on social media, whose reactions ranged from anywhere between casual fancying to all out declarations of love.

And at least one marriage proposal.
