Ectoplasm everywhere.

It seems that after a 26 year hiatus from the cinema, I’m speculating that someone has busted open the containment unit and let out all the ghosts from the original Ghostbusters movies because Paul Feig’s new recruits are going to need some help.

Images of the new team were released over the weekend but Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones will be bumping into a familiar face on the streets of New York in the new film and before you ask it’s not Slimer, although I really hope that he pops up also.

A few hours ago, Dan Aykroyd aka Ray Stanz from the original films, tweeted this message confirming that he has a cameo in the upcoming reboot. The message has since been deleted but his representatives have confirmed his involvement.

Comingsoon have posted details of Akroyd’s cameo and if you want to remain spoiler-free then I suggest looking away, I really wouldn’t want you to see me as some sort of villain like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.

Aykroyd is cameoing as a Cabbie in the new film and that he was on set filming his scene last night. The scene featured Kristen Wiig attempting to hail Aykroyd’s cab. Aykroyd throws out the iconic line, “I ain’t afraid of no ghosts.” And drives away with Wiig yelling something along the lines of “That’s a double negative! That means you are afraid of ghosts!”

July 22, 2016 can’t come soon enough.
