Sorry, we just have something in our eye…
Anyone who loved/loves The Simpsons was saddened by the news last week that Marcia Wallace, the actress whose voice we all knew as Bart’s teacher Edna Krabappel, had died.
The 70-year old died after complications suffered following a bout of pneumonia, and her death was greeted with global sadness as her character was one of the most beloved in the long-running cartoon.
Last night’s new episode of the show in the States paid tribute to Wallace by working her into Bart’s blackboard bit in the title sequence.

It’s the look on Bart’s face that really gets you. Beautifully done by all involved.
