It looks very impressive.

Lights, camera, action! Well, nobody in their right mind would actually say that in a cinema, but the people of Meath will have a new place to watch some of the biggest new releases because  a35,000 square feet state-of-the-art outlet is about to be built.

The Arc Cinema Navan is set to be built on the expanded site of the town’s original cinema at Kennedy Road, which has undergone complete renovation.

30 new jobs will be created and the overall cost to build this luxury cinema will come in at the tidy sum of €7m.

The Arc Cinema Navan will be a-VIP seating cinema with each auditorium boasting extra-large luxurious rocking leather seats for maximum comfort with stadium-style tiers for a perfect view from every seat.

All screens will use the latest technology with crystal-clear digital projection, 3D and high frame rate capability, extra-large screens and powerful Dolby Digital 7.1 surround sound for the ultimate film experience.

This six-screen luxury cinema will be the third location for the Arc Cinema chain, they have other locations in Drogheda and Wexford town.

Pat Mullaney, Centre Manager, Navan Town Centre, has said that: “By integrating the 15,000 sq ft former Jesters play centre unit, the end result is a much larger and improved leisure offering with direct access to the cinema complex from Navan Town Centre and its spacious car park.

He added: “The entire premises has been stripped back to shell and core and boasts new lifts, foyer, entrance, screens and the luxury leather armchair seats.

“We are very excited to welcome a new neighbour to the centre in such a great, convenient location, and look forward to the opportunities this development will bring to Navan as a whole. We are thrilled with the great customer cinema experience that The Arc Cinema will deliver, right on our doorstep.”

For people living  in Meath, those trips to the cinema might be about to change.
