Power fans! It’s time to get excited.

It was announced back in 2018 that the hit TV show Power would be getting a spinoff, much to the delight of fans of the Starz network series.

Power has been one of the biggest television shows of the past 10 years, so we’d imagine that the spinoff be a pretty big deal.

And based off this bit of casting news, we reckon it’s time to start getting excited.

According to Variety, series creator and showrunner Courtney A. Kemp revealed that R&B artist and actress Mary J. Blidge will star in it.

“This is probably the most exciting thing that’s going to happen to me this year,” said Blige. “I’ve been a fan of Power since the very beginning and I want to thank Courtney Kemp and 50 Cent for starting this conversation with me.”

Kemp also said that the series will “continue the journey” of some of the show’s “most controversial characters”.

Sounds exciting.

The spinoff’s title is Power Book II: Ghost, or just Ghost for short, which could give Power fans an idea about who could feature throughout.

Plot wise, we don’t know all that much about the spinoff, but based on a 50 Cent Instagram post from October of last year, it seems that it will be influenced by the late 1980s.
