Tell me more, tell me more.

Why this film is automatic
It’s systematic
It’s hydromatic
Why it’s greased lightnin’!

Ok, we’re not sure that’s how the executives in Paramount started off their most recent production meeting but there’s some good news for fans of the beloved musical because a prequel is now being developed.

Oh yes, it’s time to rev those engines for some greased lightning!

The Hollywood Reporter have said that a prequel, titled Summer Loving, is being written by John August (Big Fish and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory).

The prequel to the 1978 musical looks set to revolve around the beloved ‘Summer Loving’ song that was performed by Danny Zuko (John Travolta) and  Sandy Olsson (Olivia Newton-John).

As you may remember, both characters recount to their friends a summer fling that they had via the song. Zuko’s account is more graphic while Olsson’s is much more innocent.

Hell, we all know the famous lyrics!

Anyway, the prequel’s story is said to depict that fateful meeting. After all, summer dreams ripped at the seams but oh those summer nights.

Given the massive success of the Mamma Mia films, we can see this doing quite well!
