Prime Video has just quietly added 32 big movies to its library

Rory Cashin

Many, many, MANY big movies to choose from this week!

Listen, we know you’re here for the list.

You know you’re here for the list.

So here is the list, in alphabetical order, starting with:

2 FAST 2 FURIOUS

The second outing for the blockbuster franchise sees Vin Diesel replaced by Tyrese. You can check out our special spotlight on the movie right here:

ABOUT A BOY

A turning point in Hugh Grant’s career, between this and Bridget Jones’ Diary, when he pivoted from The Nice Guy King of Rom-Coms to a magnificently swarmy deliverer of sarcasm and apathy.

ALLEGIANT

Initially titled The Divergent Series: Allegiant Part One, this Shailene Woodley-fronted sci-fi YA adaptation bombed so hard that they never made the final movie in the series.

BAD TEACHER

Cameron Diaz is a teacher who is bad at her job, but she has the hots for Justin Timberlake and decides to fake enthusiasm for the kids in the school in order to win him over.

COPSHOP

One of 2021’s most-overlooked action thrillers.

DEFINITELY, MAYBE

Ryan Reynolds, Rachel Weisz, Elizabeth Banks and Isla Fisher star in this very likeable rom-com that essentially has the exact same plot as How I Met Your Mother.

DEMONIC

Director Neil Blomkamp (District 9) made this sci-fi horror during the pandemic. It scored 15% on Rotten Tomatoes, so probably not worth your time.

DIVERGENT

The first (and best) in the Divergent series really, REALLY wanted to be the next The Hunger Games. And they really managed to collect a great cast for these movies: Shailene Woodley, Miles Teller, Zoe Kravitz, Kate Winslet, Octavia Spencer.

ESCAPE PLAN

Sly Stallone has designed the world’s first impossible-to-escape-from-prison. And then one day, he’s put in that prison himself for a crime he didn’t commit! So he needs to team up with another prison inmate (Arnie!) in order to escape.

FAST & FURIOUS

The fourth entry in the confusingly titled series. This is the first time since the third movie that Paul Walker, Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez were reunited in the franchise. This was also the point when they stopped being car racing movies and turned into big heist movies.

FAST & FURIOUS 6

Luke Evans is the big baddie in this one, heading a group of professional thieves who are essentially an evil version of Vin’s crew. It is the one with the endless runway and the tank on the freeway.

THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS

The first one. Yes, it is basically a remake of Point Break, but so what?

THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS: TOKYO DRIFT

Neither Walker nor Diesel (mostly) returned for this Japan-set street racing high school drama.

FAST FIVE

The best one in the series so far, almost entirely set in Brazil. This is the one that The Rock debuts in. Check out our breakdown of the movie right here:

HE’S JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU

Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Connelly, Kevin Connolly, Bradley Cooper, Ginnifer Goodwin, Scarlett Johansson, Kris Kristofferson and Justin Long star in this rom-com about people falling in and out of love with each other.

HIDEOUS KINKY

Kate Winslet stars in this drama about a young mother who becomes disenfranchised with her boring life in London, so packs her bags for her and her two daughters to begin a new life in Morocco.

THE IMPOSSIBLE

Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor headline this terrifying drama based-on-the-true-story of a family on holiday when the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami struck their resort. It also features the film debut of one Tom Holland!

INSURGENT

The sequel to Divergent is much worse than that first movie, but already you can see the wheels starting to come off in terms of general interest in this very middle-of-the-road teen apocalypse thriller.

THE KING’S SPEECH

A very entertaining comedy drama about the King (Colin Firth) attempting to cope with his stammer with the help of a tenacious speech therapist (Gregory Rush).

KNOWING

Nicolas Cage cracks a code that predicts the time and location of every major catastrophe resulting in a large losses of life. An absolutely bonkers disaster movie, especially for that “Wait, what??” final act.

LAW ABIDING CITIZEN

Gerard Butler and Jamie Foxx star in this relentlessly thrashy thriller about a father (Butler) who is exacting revenge of those who killed his family… all while still seemingly in prison.

LOOPER

A very clever sci-fi thriller with Bruce Willis playing an assassin on the run from his own younger self (Joseph Gordon-Levitt).

THE LUCKY ONES

A comedy-drama about three US army soldiers (Tim Robbins, Rachel McAdams, Michael Pena) who are forced to go on a road-trip together when their flights are cancelled.

MARY SHELLEY’S FRANKENSTEIN

Hoping to follow in the footsteps of Francis Ford Coppola’s Dracula, this had a great director (Kenneth Branagh), a great writer (Frank Darabont – The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile), and a great cast including Robert De Niro, Helena Bonham Carter, Ian Holm, John Cleese and Aidan Quinn. It is still considered one of the very worst mainstream movies of the 1990s.

NOTTING HILL

One of the most-loved rom-coms of all time. Hugh Grant is the bumbling bookshop owner who begins a relationship with Julia Roberts, who just happens to be playing one of the most famous actresses in the world.

THE PEANUT BUTTER FALCON

Arguably the best movie on this whole list, and maybe the one you’ve heard the least about. A comedy-drama about a young boy with Down syndrome who runs from his assisted living facility, befriending a fisherman (Shia LaBeouf) along the way, while a social worker (Dakota Johnson) tries to track them down. 95% on Rotten Tomatoes, not to be sniffed at!

SEVEN POUNDS

Will Smith fronts this teary drama about a man who plans on helping a series of complete strangers (including Rosario Dawson, Woody Harrelson, Barry Pepper and more) for reasons that remain elusive to them all.

TWILIGHT

The first one.

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN PART ONE

The fourth one. The worst one.

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN PART TWO

The fifth one. The most accidentally funny one.

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE

The third one. The best one.

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON

The second one.
