Prime Video has just added 19 huge movies to its library

Prime Video

A great selection of horror, comedy, drama and thriller added to the Prime Video library.

For anyone with a Prime Video subscription, you’ll be happy to hear that the streaming service has recently added 19 big movies to its library. And, better still, a lot of them are very, very good. Not ALL of them, mind…

12 YEARS A SLAVE

The powerful, multi-Oscar-winning drama features an incredible cast including Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael Fassbender, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Dano, Paul Giamatti, Lupita Nyong’o, Sarah Paulson, Brad Pitt, Michael Kenneth Williams, and Alfre Woodard.

ATTACK THE BLOCK

A brilliant mix of sci-fi, horror and comedy, dealing with a gang (headed by John Boyega) who must defend their block of flats from an invading alien race.

DIE HART

Kevin Hart headlines action comedy exclusive to Prime Video, playing a heightened version of himself who goes to “action school” – under the tutelage of John Travolta – in order to be taken more seriously as an action star. Check out our chat with Hart about the movie right here:

DETROIT

The director of The Hurt Locker and Zero Dark Thirty focuses on the 1967 Detroit riots, with another immensely impressive cast including John Boyega, Will Poulter, Kaitlyn Dever, Jack Reynor, John Krasinski and Anthony Mackie.

GOODFELLAS

The best gangster movie ever made? Discuss.

THE INCREDIBLE HULK

Edward Norton’s take on the big green guy is officially a part of the MCU, and remains one of the least interesting entries in the series to date.

JUMANJI

The 1995 original, with Robin Williams playing the grown up version of a young boy who has been caught in a magical boardgame for decades.

JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE

The 2017 rebootquel, in which the boardgame is switched out for a video game, and features The Rock, Jack Black, Kevin Hart and Karen Gillan.

MEN IN BLACK 3

Better than the second one, not as good as the first. The casting of Josh Brolin as a young Tommy Lee Jones was INSPIRED.

MOLLY’S GAME

The writer of The Social Network tells another too-crazy-not-to-be-true story, this time of an Olympic athlete (Jessica Chastain) who turns her hand to organising celebrities-only, high-stakes poker games.

MOTHER’S DAY

Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston and Kate Hudson are just some of the megastars in this truly awful rom-com.

PAN

A huge box office flop, this retelling of Peter Pan featured Hugh Jackman as Captain Hook, singing songs by Nirvana and the Ramones. Not a good movie.

PAN’S LABYRINTH

Guillermo Del Toro’s beautiful, horrifying fairytale, with a young girl getting lost in a magical world filled with monsters, while the real world attempts to endure the Spanish Civil War.

RED / RED 2

The first of these Bruce Willis-fronted action comedies is pretty good. The second, not so much.

SICARIO

One of the very best thrillers ever made, with Emily Blunt, Josh Brolin and Benicio Del Toro caught up in a complicated web of deception and shady dealings on the US/Mexico border.

THOSE WHO WISH ME DEAD

Angelina Jolie stars in this very decent action thriller. She is posted in a watchtower for fires in a huge forest, who attempts to save a young boy’s life after he is targeted by a pair of assassins. Check out our chat with Jolie and her co-star Medina Senghore right here:

WE ARE YOUR FRIENDS

Zac Efron is the young LA DJ attempting to make it big in the music scene, and Emily Ratajkowski is the girlfriend of the big music head honcho (Wes Bentley) that he falls in love with.

WRONG TURN (2021)

The horror remake of the 2003 original has a Rotten Tomatoes score of 65%, which is significantly higher than the original’s review rating.
