Bad news for moviegoers.
The release of the much-anticipated Christopher Nolan movie Tenet has been delayed “indefinitely”.
The movie was set to kick-off the return of big, new movies to the cinema, but it has been officially pushed back by Warner Bros.
The movie has officially been released from Warner Bros’ release calendar, delivering a big blow on the movie industry at a time when movie theatres hoped to make a return to normality.
The movie was expected to hit Irish cinemas on 17 July initially, though it had recently been pushed back by number of weeks due to Covid-19.
At this point, it is unclear when the movie will be released, though Warner Bros. are expected to announce a new release date “imminently”.
“We will share a new 2020 release date imminently for ‘Tenet,’ Christopher Nolan’s wholly original and mind-blowing feature,” said Warner Bros. chairman Toby Emmerich in a statement issued to Variety.
“Our goals throughout this process have been to ensure the highest odds of success for our films while also being ready to support our theater partners with new content as soon as they could safely reopen.”
