As December 1 ticks ever closer, we’ve got but one thing on our minds, and that’s The Late Late Toy Show.
Can it possibly live up to other years of heartwarming moments, controversy and some stunning performances?
This year’s trailer goes for a traditional Christmas feel taking inspiration from the classic children’s story The Nutcracker.
A young girl settles down to sleep as a festive snow globe twinkles at her bedside. As she sleeps, the snow globe comes to life with toy soldier – and Late Late Toy Show host – Ryan Tubridy joined by the girl and her friends opening presents and playing in the snow.
All to the tune of The Shins’ version of the festive classic Wonderful Christmas time.
The promo will premiere on Irish TV on Thursday evening and you will be seeing it over the coming days until the big show on Friday week.
But if that’s not enough for you, there’s three-part documentary series, The Late Late Toy Show Unwrapped, starting on Wednesday, November 29 on RTÉ One at 7pm. The documentary will follow how the Toy Show is put together behind the scenes.
