Ron Weasley’s new role is in a TV series based on of our favourite films

Carl Kinsella

This is not the Ron Weasley as you remember him.

Compared to Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson, Rupert Grint has been oddly quiet since the Harry Potter series drew to a close in 2011.

News of his latest role will shock fans of that series, however, as it appears Harry’s loveable sidekick will be starring in Crackle – the TV series based around beloved Guy Ritchie crime film Snatch.

According to Deadline, Grint’s character Charlie Cavendish will be a “dynamic, frustratingly chaotic and utterly posh con man.”

Work on the series will begin by the end of the month, and the series is slated for release in 2o17.

Grint, 27, will star alongside Dougray Scott (Fear the Walking Dead), Ed Westwick (Wicked City) and Nick Renton (The Musketeers).
