Big news from the state broadcaster.

The bosses at RTÉ have decided to cancel Republic of Telly after 15 seasons. According to the Irish Mirror, the decision not to bring back the popular comedy show is because of financial pressures following a loss of €20 million last year. Republic of Telly was hosted by Neil Delamere, Dermot Whelan and Kevin McGahern in different stints with Mairead Farrell, Bernard O'Shea, Jennifer Magure, Joanne McNally, Fred Cooke and The Rubberbandits also making big contributions. RTÉ say they're looking for new talent and will announce a replacement for the show in the near future. Here's one of the best sketches from recent years. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3K5_GI91H8k Clip via YouTube/RTÉ Republic of Comedy
