Any of these scenes look familiar?

A documentary exposing the shocking state of sub-standard rental accommodation in Ireland will make for interesting viewing for anyone with less than positive experiences of the rental market on Thursday night.

The result of a lengthy, undercover investigation by RTÉ Investigates, Nightmare to Let will expose some of the shady practises in the rental market in Ireland, such as serious overcrowding and dodgy finances.

The programme will also expose the desperate state of some of rental premises in the country, including one building that was in such a poor state that the High Court granted an order to Dublin City Council to vacate it after it was reported by the RTÉ Investigates team.

That building and many more will feature in the documentary, as will the first-hand experiences of some of the renters who were subject to such dreadful conditions.

Nightmare to Let airs on RTÉ One on Thursday, November 2.
