RTÉ received 200 complaints about a segment on The Late Late Show on Friday

"What is this all about?"

It angered a lot of people…

The Late Late Show returned to our screens on Friday following its summer break, and once again provided entertainment for those not feeling like venturing out for the night.

It was a jam-packed show with a segment about the most expensive lamb in Ireland originally stealing all the limelight.

I’ve never heard the words semen and sperm used so frequently on The Late Late Show in all my time watching it.

But, another segment caused an issue with many viewers watching the show from home.

Dring a conversation with Dr Eva Orsmond, she discussed why people in deprived areas are three times likely to develop cancer, and a image of Ireland was used during her explanation.

The image, used to represent the recent findings in the Census, showed the island of Ireland with the six counties of Northern Ireland cut out.

According to The Belfast Telegraph, RTÉ received 203 complaints about the use of the image of Ireland.

RTÉ were also contacted by 33 other viewers in addition to the complaints, with these 33 viewers giving negative feedback on the segment, while Deputy Leader of Sinn Féin Mary Lou McDonald voiced her disapproval of the image on social media.
