10 scary movies hitting the big screen between now and 31 October!

If you love scary movies, then obviously Halloween is going to be a highlight for your cinematic calendar.

And to that end, we’ve got some good news for you, because there are quite a few horrors and thrillers arriving between now and Halloween for you to enjoy on the big screen over the next few weeks.

Starting with…

BEAST – in cinemas now

Idris Elba and his family have the holiday from hell when they become the target of a rogue lion while travelling across South Africa.

THE INVITATION – in cinemas now

A young woman (Nathalie Emmanuel) discovers she has some very distant relatives, and initially she is hugely welcomed into their rich lifestyle. But it doesn’t take long for her to discover there is something hugely sinister going on behind the scenes…

FALL – 2 September 

As if climbing up a 2,000 foot abandoned TV tower wasn’t bad enough, when two best friends/adrenaline junkets get to the top, the only ladder to bring them up collapses away. Not one for anyone suffering from vertigo…

BODIES BODIES BODIES – 9 September 

When one of their friends shows up murdered, a group holed up in a mansion during a hurricane begin to suspect each other of being the killer. Pete Davidson, Amandla Stenberg and Maria Bakalova star.

CRIMES OF THE FUTURE – 9 September 

Viggo Mortensen, Kirsten Stewart and Léa Seydoux star in David Cronenberg’s return to the genre of sci-fi body horror, set in a world of performance art where audiences arrive to watch live surgeries performed.

DON’T WORRY DARLING – 23 September 

The movie that everyone seems to be talking about right now! Olivia Wilde directs this psychological thriller about what appears to be the perfect little town, and the new couple (Florence Pugh and Harry Styles) who get caught up in it.

SMILE – 28 September 

13 Reasons Why star Sosie Bacon stars in this psychological horror, playing a doctor convinced that her own mind is turning on her, following a disturbing event involving one of her own patients.

VENGEANCE – 7 October

The US Office star BJ Novak writes, directs and stars in the horror-thriller about a writer from New York who heads to a funeral of a girl he once hooked up with, hoping to get to solve her apparent murder. Co-stars Ashton Kutcher, Boyd Holbrook and Issa Rae.

HALLOWEEN ENDS – 14 October

The trilogy closer, following on from the events of 2018’s Halloween and 2021’s Halloween Kills. Jamie Lee Curtis returns for one last time as Laurie Strode, hoping to put an end to Michael Myers’ reign of terror once and for all.

THE DEVIL’S LIGHT – 28 October

A young nun is preparing to take part in her first exorcism, but before she can take on that mission, she must first unravel a mystery from her own past.
