Season 2 of Mindhunter has released its first trailer and it looks fantastic

Paul Moore

Mindhunter Season 2

We’re getting more cases and a very familiar face returns.

It’s not often that people would say that they’d like to spend more time with a serial killer but when it comes to Cameron Britton’s chilling performance as Edmund Kemper in Mindhunter, there’s a very sinister and odd appeal.

Truth be told, you could make a case that Britton’s Emmy-nominated turn as the chilling serial killer belongs alongside Anthony Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs in terms of complexity.

Charming, calculated, and cold blooded, the ease at which Kemper talked about his horrific actions in Season 1 was a massive part of Mindhunter’s appeal.

He’s a monster, but in order to understand his sadistic acts, Agents Ford and Tench have to make a deal with the devil. Ultimately, there can be no light without embracing the dark.

After we got a first glimpse of what’s in store for Season 2, Netflix have dropped the first footage of Season 2 and it’s an absolute doozy.

In terms of the overall plot, Fincher confirmed that the new episodes will delve into the cases of Charles Manson, Son Of Sam, and the Atlanta child murders, a string of 28 mostly child murders that shook Atlanta from 1979-1981.

Keep your eyes peeled because Edmund Kemper is back to offer some sadistic insight.

16 August, people. 16 August.

It can’t come soon enough.
