The sequel to the Framing Britney Spears documentary is available to watch in Ireland today

The New York Times investigation is at the centre of the follow-up documentary.

Framing Britney Spears was one of the most-talked-about documentaries of the year, giving a look behind the media furore and current conservatorship around one of the most famous people in the world.

The topic has become a global talking point, with Netflix announcing that it will be releasing a documentary on the same topic, Britney Vs Spears, later on this week.

However, the folks behind Framing Britney Spears have actually made a follow-up documentary, titled Controlling Britney Spears, and it will be available to watch in Ireland tonight.

As per the documentary’s official synopsis:

“The new documentary that features interviews with key insiders and those with first-hand information about the conservatorship that has controlled the pop star’s life.

“In a confidential report in 2016, Britney Spears told a court investigator that her conservatorship had become ‘an oppressive and controlling tool against her.’ But how the conservatorship has controlled her life has never been revealed.

“Now, in this New York Times investigation, a portrait emerges of an intense surveillance apparatus that monitored every move she made. From the makers of Framing Britney Spears, this film features exclusive interviews with insiders who had intimate knowledge of her life inside the conservatorship.”

Controlling Britney Spears is available is available to watch on NOW right now, and will also be airing on Sky Documentaries at 9pm tonight (Monday, 27 September).
