There are only 38 days, 15 hours, 5 minutes and 14 seconds to go until the release of the latest eagerly-anticipated Middle-Earth movie, The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug but hey, who’s counting?
As Thorin (Richard Armitage) and his company of courageous dwarves continue on their quest to reclaim their homeland from the evil dragon Smaug (Benedict Cumberbatch), they are accompanied by the plucky Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) who is now in possession of the One Ring.
That’s the really, really, really evil piece of jewellery in case you were wondering.
Almost as evil as an engagement ring.
Ahead of the film’s December release, Warner Bros. have just released seven brand new character posters, with Ian McKellen AKA Gandalf the Grey tweeting his own brilliant pic yesterday.

Check out the others below which include Legolas (Orlando Bloom), Thorin (Richard Armitage), new boy Bard The Bowman (Luke Evans), Lady Gaga Thranduil (Lee Pace), Tauriel (Evangeline Lilly) and the man of the moment, or rather, the hobbit of the hour, Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman).
And if we’re not mistaken, there has either been some sort of dark Mordor magic at work in the creation of the posters… or else some of them have been hugely airbrushed, with Freeman’s Bilbo looking especially effected.
We’re not overly complaining though and, if we’re honest, JOE could just sit and stare at Evangeline Lilly’s beautiful blade-wielding Tauriel all day.
In fact, that’s exactly what we’re going to do… Bye everybody.
