There is one particular MCU character he wants to see in EVERY Marvel movie going forward...
The first teaser trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home dropped last week, and pretty much the entire planet dropped what they were doing so they could watch it immediately. And then watch it over and over again.
We did a full breakdown on that trailer (which you can check out right here), but one of the people who was very excited to see it was Simu Liu, the titular star of Marvel's next big screen blockbuster, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
JOE caught up with the soon-to-be-megastar in the run-up to the movie's release, as well as his co-star Awkwafina (interview here), as well as the movie's director and co-writer, Destin Daniel Cretton (which you can watch here).
Over the course of our chat with Liu, everything from his brilliant Twitter account to who he wants to fight in Shang-Chi 2 came up, and you can check out the interview in full right here:
But of course, we had to ask Liu about the new Spidey trailer, and not just because he's also a massive fan of the Marvel movies.
In the No Way Home trailer, you'll spot Doctor Strange's sorta-housemate Wong (played to comedic perfection by Benedict Wong), a character that also appears in Shang-Chi.
So we had to know, when Liu spotted Wong in the Spider-Man trailer, did he get excited for what that could potentially mean regarding the future of the MCU?
Liu told us: "It is very flattering that you think that I would know those things. I lack the security clearance, or perhaps the intellectual capability to grasp any of that stuff.
"All I know is: I sees Wong and I gets happy. I am a very simple man in that regard, and Benedict [Wong] is such an amazing performer and even better friend, and I'm just happy for him. He is getting a lot of opportunities in the MCU, he's popping up everywhere.
"I say put Wong in everything!"
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings arrives exclusively in Irish cinemas on Friday, 3 September, while Spider-Man: No Way Home is due to arrive on Friday, 17 December.
