The Ireland-shot film will also star The White Lotus' Jason Isaacs.

Vaughan-Lawlor is one of the leads in the movie, opposite Harry Potter and White Lotus actor Jason Isaacs.

Jason Isaacs, who will also star in Silverback

Writer-director Steve Kenny will make his feature debut with the film.

News about the crime thriller emerged last November, with the plot synopsis stating:

“Silverback sees a notorious criminal move in next door to a stay-at-home dad, who must weigh the benefits of their new friendship against the deadly threat it poses to his family."

Last month, JOE attended the red carpet premiere for the ongoing, excellent RTÉ mystery comedy drama These Sacred Vows.

While we were there, we spoke to Vaughan-Lawlor and asked him about the status of Silverback.

He told us: "Yeah, we're going to shoot that in April in Dublin.

"It's a really beautiful, complicated script, challenging. I'm really excited…

"Steve Kenny wrote it. He directed a beautiful short film [2018's Time Traveller] about the Back to the Future car, about a kid in the car from Back to the Future.

"So, he's really talented and really smart.

"[Silverback is] kind of a two-hander, these two men who live beside each other. I'm a huge fan of Jason Isaacs, so I'm looking forward to that."

When JOE asked who is playing the criminal and who is playing the stay-at-home dad, Vaughan-Lawlor replied, laughing: "You'll have to wait and see."

Tom Vaughan-Lawlor has been very in demand recently, appearing on TV screens in These Sacred Vows and Game of Thrones spin-off A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.

The cast of The Weir

The Irish actor was also just announced to be reprising his role from the acclaimed stage revival of Conor McPherson's The Weir in its upcoming film adaptation.

These Sacred Vows' first four episodes are streaming on the RTÉ Player now. Its final two episodes will air on RTÉ One at 9.30pm across the next two Sundays.
