No better men for a supernatural horror comedy…

Whether it’s bashing zombies’ heads in with a cricket bat in Shaun of the Dead, sending up classic ’80s and ’90s action vehicles in Hot Fuzz, or just lounging about in Spaced, it’s fair to say that Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are a duo blessed with chemistry.

As such, we welcome the news that they’re set to team up once again as the leads in a brand new TV show.

Truth Seekers marks an eight-part supernatural horror comedy venture for the pair, and will be exclusive to Amazon Prime Video.

Set in a “mysterious world filled with dread and just-out-of-sight monsters”, the show centres on Gus (Frost), Dave (Pegg) and a team of paranormal investigators chasing ghosts across the UK for the purposes of broadcast entertainment.

As their quest continues – taking in haunted churches, underground bunkers, abandoned hospitals, and so on – they discover something far more sinister and world-threatening afoot.

A release date has yet to be announced, but production is expected to begin in September. Pegg and Frost will also co-write the show alongside Nat Saunders and James Serafinowicz.

“Nick and I are delighted that Truth Seekers has found a home with Amazon Prime Video,” said Pegg.

“We’re looking forward to working closely with them and creating something very special.

“These are truly exciting times for television, and I can’t think of a better partner than Amazon to accompany us on a return to the smaller screen.”
