Joyful, joyful.

God bless Harvey Keitel. If he wasn't such an intimidating and troublesome gangster in Sister Act, Deloris Van Cartier may never have found her true calling to become a nun. Well, an interim nun. Oh happy day, indeed. Well, with news that Whoopi Goldberg will be returning to play Sister Mary Clarence in a new Sister Act musical in London's West End, Ticketmaster have confirmed that the production will land in Dublin too. Hallelujah! Based on the iconic movie, the smash-hit musical Sister Act is coming to the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre from 29 September to 4 October 202o. Tickets go on sale this Friday, 22 November. At present, it's not certain if Goldberg and Jennifer Saunders will be reprising their roles for the Dublin-based production of the show, but we're certain that fans of the Sister Act films will definitely want to head along anyway. The musical has been billed as a "sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship, sisterhood and music", telling "the hilarious story of the disco diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a murder". All we ask is that they play 'Joyful, joyful' in full because it is - and will always be - an absolute banger. We wonder if The Pope will fancy coming to this show too?
