Mayans MC trailer

Not long to wait for Sons of Anarchy fans.

A few weeks ago, we saw the first teaser trailer for Mayans MC; the first official and much-anticipated spin-off from Sons of Anarchy.

Since then, Kurt Sutter (creator) has been providing us with a few more details about what to expect from SAMCRO’s rival motorcycle group and the main character, EZ Reyes.

During the recent ATX Television Festival in Texas, Sutter said that the political climate that exists on the US-Mexican border will bleed into the narrative of Mayans MC.

He also said that the show is going to be set roughly three years after Sons of Anarchy ended and that Emilio Rivera, who played Marcus Alvarez in SOA, will be a regular cast member on Mayans MC.

When asked if any more Sons of Anarchy characters will be featuring in the spinoff, Sutter remained somewhat cryptic.

“We want to acknowledge where we came from, and those fans, and balance that with a show that’s original and different and doesn’t feel like the Latino version of Sons of Anarchy,” he said.

With regards to the official plot synopsis, here’s what’s in store: “Mayans MC is set in a post-Jax Teller world, where EZ Reyes (JD Pardo), fresh out of prison, is a prospect in the Mayan MC charter on the Cali/Mexico border. Now EZ must carve out his new outlaw identity in a town where he once was the golden boy who had the American Dream within his grasp.”

Edward James Olmos, Sarah Bolger, Clayton Cardenas, Gino Vento, Richard Cabral, Michael Irby, Raoul Trujillo, Antonio Jaramillo and Carla Baratta all star in the 10-episode series.

Anyway, with all this talk, it’s time for action and Sutter revealed another brief glimpse at what’s in store.

At present, there’s still no exact premiere date set but Mayans MC will arrive this fall.
