Star launches on Disney+ today, here is the very first thing you need to do

Rory Cashin

You’ll need to do one quick thing to access all of the new content.

Today is the day, folks.

While we’ve all made the same joke about “Completing Netflix” over the last year or so, you’ll be very happy to hear that today brings a tsunami of new content to consume over the coming days, weeks, and months (and years).

Star has officially launched on Disney+, and it brings with some more adult-aimed content, which we have written about extensively already, and includes classic shows like Scrubs, Desperate Housewives, Family Guy, The X-Files, Lost, Atlanta, Buffy, 24, Ugly Betty, Modern Family, Lie to Me, Bones, Cougar Town, American Dad and Grey’s Anatomy.

However, before you can access any of it, you will need to do one thing immediately.

Since Disney+ was previously pretty much exclusively catering to family-friendly content, when you log in next, you’ll be asked to change the current age rating on your profile from 14+ to 18+. To do this, you’ll be asked to re-enter the password for your Disney+ account.

From there, you can assign a PIN code for your own profile, and decide which other profiles can also be given full 18+ access to. So if you’ve got kids in the house, you can assign a separate profile for them, and this will make it all that much easier to ensure they don’t see any of the more grown up stuff that is now available on the streaming service.

Now, if you’ll excuse us, we’re going to be rewatching all of Futurama from the very beginning again…
