Star Wars: Episode VIII reportedly set to film in Cork’s English Market later this month

Yet another Irish location might be added to the Star Wars filming schedule.

Reports are gathering pace that Cork’s iconic English Market is set to be used as a location on Star Wars: Episode VIII, with filming taking place later this month.

According to TheMovieBit, nothing is official yet, but the suggestion is that the entire market will be closed to the public once filming gets under way at the end of April.

The original article was published on April 1, so we’ll reserve a bit of skepticism, but why would they lie? WHY WOULD THEY LIE?

The article states The English Market will make up interior scenes for external shots made in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

Traders in the market will be compensated for the loss of any business, and some have reportedly been offered background roles in the movie.

Hmm, watch this space story, because we smell a Death Star trash compactor rat…
