A superhero double bill is among the movies on TV tonight

Stephen Porzio

There are plenty of film options on telly this evening.

Friday is finally here, marking the beginning of the weekend.

And for those looking for movies to watch during this period, JOE recommended three new ones in the video below.

However, for more options, here are the films airing on TV this evening.

Glass/Daredevil – Film4 – 9pm/11.35pm

Two quite divisive superhero flicks are being aired on Film4 tonight.

The first is M. Night Shyamalan’s Glass which was the final installment in his Unbreakable trilogy. To some, it was a disappointing conclusion. To others, it was an ambitious and unique take on the superhero genre.

Then, there is the Ben Affleck-starring Daredevil which, despite being a fairly standard adaptation of its source material, does feature some fun elements including Colin Farrell’s villainous turn.

Lethal Weapon 3 – Turner Classic Movies – 9pm

Murtaugh (Danny Glover) and Riggs (Mel Gibson) return in this buddy cop sequel.

The Break-Up – Comedy Central – 9pm

In this romantic comedy-drama, Jennifer Anniston and Vince Vaughn go through a bad break-up.

Peripheral – Horror Xtra – 9pm

This 2018 indie British sci-fi has a 90% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

3:10 to Yuma – TG4 – 9.25pm

Christian Bale and Russell Crowe star in this acclaimed Western remake from director James Mangold (Logan).

Erin Brockovich – RTÉ2 – 9.50pm

The biographical legal drama for which Julia Roberts won an Oscar.

Rambo – Dave – 10pm

The very violent fourth entry in the Sylvester Stallone-fronted action franchise.

Magnum Force – Turner Classic Movies – 11.25pm

Clint Eastwood returns in this solid sequel to Dirty Harry.

Mrs Henderson Presents – RTÉ One – 11.30pm

Judi Dench stars in this well-liked biographical musical film as Laura Henderson, the British socialite who opened the popular Windmill Theatre in London.
