They’re not exactly bosom buddies.
If you happen to follow either Susan Sarandon or Piers Morgan on Twitter then you might have been wondering why your timeline was being bombarded with images of boobs last night but there’s a perfectly legitimate reason for this.
The TV host felt that the Oscar winner had too much cleavage on display during her recent appearance at the SAG awards where she introduced a memoriam segment for notable deaths over the past year.
As always, Morgan wasn’t shy about expressing his opinion.
Would Susan Sarandon wear this to a funeral? No.
It was thus horribly inappropriate for an In Memoriam tribute. pic.twitter.com/hMoGChJY8D— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) February 3, 2016
The five times Oscar nominated star of Dead Man Walking, Lorenzo’s Oil and The Client had a perfectly apt response after posting an image of her breakthrough performance as Janet in The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Sarandon got quite a lot of support from both men and women , which she retweeted, after receiving this criticism of her outfit.

Not to be outdone in the sexy stakes, the TV host had this photo-shopped image on standby to Sarandon’s tweet but it still didn’t prevent people from taking umbrage with Morgan’s initial remark. Piers did the breast best thing possible by trying to take any needle out of the situation by clearing up the issue and responding to the online criticism.

Here’s Morgan’s reply along with “a curious form of punishment” in his own words.
Feminists now sending me photos of their cleavage to 'punish' me for criticising @SusanSarandon.
Curious notion of punishment.— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) February 5, 2016
Shaming women @piersmorgan? Really?! I love @SusanSarandon and her boobs all day long! #cleavagesolidarity pic.twitter.com/FDFP17Zlzq

Just to reiterate, Morgan clarified his stance as best as he could.
Key question: would @SusanSarandon have worn that outfit to a funeral or memorial service?
Answer: no.
End of debate. #cleavagegate— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) February 5, 2016
Seems to be some massive misunderstanding that I am anti-cleavage.
I'm only anti-cleavage during In Memoriam tributes to dead people.— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) February 5, 2016
