Some of the best Hollywood action filmmaking ever.

A very fun Tom Hardy performance just about makes this so-so superhero flick worth watching.

The raunchy teen sex comedy that launched a franchise.

Traffic – Dave – 9.40pm

Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason – RTÉ One – 9.45pm
The second one.

The Warriors – MTV – 10pm
In this ’70s cult action thriller, a New York City street gang must travel 30 miles from the north end of the Bronx to their home turf in Coney Island in southern Brooklyn after they are framed for the murder of a respected gang leader.

Over the Top – Pick – 10pm
Stallone stars again, this time as a long-haul truck driver/aspiring arm wrestling champion.

Rocky – ITV4 – 10.35pm
Sly yet again, this time in the Best Picture winner which he wrote and starred in – launching his career.

Suspect – RTÉ2 – 10.40pm
Our pick for tonight is this 1987 movie focusing on a public defence lawyer (Cher) assigned to defend a homeless, deaf Vietnam war veteran (Liam Neeson) suspected of murder.

The lawyer winds up receiving help from a member of the jury (Dennis Quaid) in getting to the bottom of the case.

Featuring three great performances, stylish direction from Peter Yates (Bullitt) and a nicely twisty screenplay, Suspect is a must-watch for fans of legal thrillers.

Suspect is also available for rent on Apple TV and Google Play.

Rabid – LegendXtra – 10.45pm
A so-so remake of one of David Cronenberg’s early body horrors.

This Oscar-winning meta comedy-drama sees Nicolas Cage play the writer of the movie – Charlie Kaufman.

The Witches of Eastwick – BBC Two – 11pm
From Mad Max director George Miller, this supernatural comedy sees three single women (Cher, Michelle Pfeiffer and Susan Sarandon) have their wishes granted at a cost when a mysterious and flamboyant man (Jack Nicholson) arrives into their lives.
