Sylvester Stallone provides sad update on Bruce Willis’ condition

Steve Hopkins

“Bruce is going through some really, really difficult times.”

Sylvester Stallone has told how Bruce Willis’ condition is “so sad” as he gave an update on the Die Hard actor’s health.

In March, Willis’s family confirmed he would be stepping away from acting after being diagnosed with aphasia, a brain condition that can lead to the loss of the ability to understand and express speech.

A statement posted on social media by his family read: “To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family, we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities.

“As a result of this and with much consideration, Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him.

“This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion and support.

“We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him.

“As Bruce always says, ‘Live it up’ and together we plan to do just that.”

In an interview earlier this week with The Hollywood Reporter, Stallone provided an update on Willis’s health, and unfortunately, it isn’t good news.

Stallone said: “Bruce is going through some really, really difficult times. So he’s been sort of incommunicado.

“That kills me. It’s so sad.”

When Willis’s diagnosis was made public, Stallone wished his old friend well on social media.

Alongside some pictures of Willis, Stallone wrote: “We go back a long way. Praying for the best for you and your wonderful family.”

The action stars have shared a strong bond for many years on and off the screen, with Willis appearing in Stallone’s The Expendables franchise.
