If you can handle being struck by lightning, TG4 are looking for new weather presenters

Alan Loughnane

presenter

Want to be a presenter on TG4?

When we speak of job hazards, we usually mean excessive noise, dust, or using heavy machinery. But if you’re a TG4 weather person, you have to avoid being struck by lightning while live on air

But in all seriousness, TG4 are on the look out for new presenters to fill two positions, a new weather and a new continuity presenter.

“This role is ideal for anyone who wants to develop their communication and presentation skills,” said TG4’s Director of Marketing & Development, Lís Ní Dhálaigh. “Our continuity and weather presenters are an integral part of our TG4 team. They are the voice of the channel on air and in social media and are also publicly recognised among our loyal TG4 audience.”

Previous weather presenters on the channel include Daithí Ó Sé, Síle Seoighe, Aoife Ní Thuairisg, or Páidí Ó Lionáird.

Daithí even credits TG4 with finding him a wife… no, he actually does.

So if you think that you can nail one of these roles, TG4 want you to send a one minute long video about yourself, along with a Curriculum Vitae, to [email protected].
