The first episode of Peaky Blinders Season 5 was screened and the reactions are excellent (No spoilers)

Fans got to see it at the world premiere and it's being called 'amazing.'

With news that Steven Knight plans on making at least two more seasons of Peaky Blinders, it appears that everyone's favourite family of gangsters is here to stay and long may that continue.

Given the fact that Season 5 of Knight's drama is one of the most-eagerly anticipated TV events of 2019, tickets to the world premiere of peaky Blinders were harder to get than the truth from Alfie Solomons.

This being said, some lucky ducks managed to get their hands on a ticket and it appears that the season opener is an absolute belter.

Don't worry, there are no spoilers here but before we jump into the new episode, it's worth remembering what the lay of the land is in Small Heath.

At the end of Season 4, the Changretta threat was wiped out as the Shelby family exacted revenge for the murder of John Shelby. Aside from this, the fragile alliance between Tommy and Alfie appears to be at an end after that dramatic showdown at Margate Beach. We think Tom Hardy's beloved character is dead, but you never know?

Aside from this, the season culminated in Tommy's election as an MP for Birmingham as the show seems destined to take on a greater political emphasis, a point that's illustrated in the synopsis for Season 5.

In terms of what fans can expect to see in the new season, we know that the rise of fascism in Europe and the Wall Street Crash will play a role.

The official synopsis states: "Series five of Steven Knight's crime family saga finds the world thrown into turmoil by the financial crash of 1929. Opportunity and misfortune are everywhere. When Tommy Shelby MP (Cillian Murphy) is approached by a charismatic politician with a bold vision for Britain, he realises that his response will affect not just his family's future but that of the entire nation."

Irishman Anthony Byrne is directing the new season and if these initial reactions are anything to go by, it appears that he has made a blistering start.

At present, no official premiere date has been announced yet but we're confident that official confirmation will be revelaed soon.

Prepare to be order of the Peaky Blinders!
