The Fury, the great 1978 supernatural horror/conspiracy thriller, is airing on TV tonight (Saturday, 7 February).
Peter's son Robin (Andrew Stevens, 10 to Midnight) has psychic abilities, which lead him to be abducted by a secret government agency (led by John Cassavetes, Rosemary's Baby).
The agency seeks to study people with supernatural powers in hopes of developing their talents as weapons.
Distraught over Robin's abduction, Peter soon teams up with Gillian (Amy Irving, Carrie), a teen with telekinesis, to find and rescue his son.
Coming two years after the smash-hit Carrie, The Fury saw De Palma bring another horror novel featuring a telekinetic teen (this time by John Farris) to the screen.
While not quite as successful commercially and critically as his Carrie adaptation, The Fury still did very well, earning praise for its performances, stylish set-pieces and explosive special effects.
Now widely considered a cult classic, the movie is airing on TV tonight on Film4 at 11.10pm. It is also available to rent on Apple TV, Google Play and Prime Video.
