The Nightmare Before Christmas will be returning to Irish cinemas this season

Nightmare Before Christmas

The beloved classic is back.

Ever wondered why it’s entirely fine to loath any person in the Christmas spirit before the Halloween season is done?

Well, the stop-motion animation classic, The Nightmare Before Christmas, has all the answers because, as fans of Henry Selick’s film will know, Jack Skellington, aka the Pumpkin King, is the true creative force behind the Christmas season.

You know, that is, if you’re happy to have monsters, ghosts, ghouls, goblins, zombies, demons, mummies, vampires, werewolves and witches in place of the more standard Christmas fare.

To hell with ‘Sandy Claws’, it’s all about Jack, Sally, Doctor Finklestein, the Mayor of Halloween Town, and Oogie Boogie during the festive season.

If you happen to have a bit more of a macabre taste – or if you’ve got a kid/nephew/niece that loves to be scared over the Christmas season – The Pálas in Galway and The Lighthouse in Dublin will both be showing the cult classic.

To make things even better, there’s going to be a sing-along screening and a more conventional showing to boot.

Given the incredible popularity of Tim Burton’s creation, we expect tickets to be snapped up.

If you’ve never seen the Oscar-nominated film, the plot revolves around Jack Skellington, king of Halloween Town, who discovers Christmas Town, and his attempts to bring Christmas to his home, which cause plenty of confusion.

Take a look at what’s in store.
