While it may be a long way off its peak years, The Simpsons is still rolling along and the new episodes are still worth a watch if you’re bored on a Sunday evening after the football.

And the 25th season, which started last week in the US, may be worth keeping an eye on as the makers of the show have plans to bump off a character.

According to reports on Digital Spy, producer Al Jean has revealed an Emmy-winning character will be bumped off.

“I’ll give you a clue that the actor playing the character won an Emmy for playing that character, but I won’t say who it is,” he told a Canadian newspaper.

So, who does that narrow it down to? Well the show has won 25 Emmys for its characters/actors including the likes of Sideshow Bob (Kelsey Grammer), Princess Penelope (Anne Hathaway) and Marge’s mum Jacqueline (Julie Kavner).

Dan Castellaneta and Hank Azaria (who play loads of characters, including Homer and Apu respectively) have also picked up Emmys.

If we had to bet, we’d go for the show’s best villain, Sideshow Bob to get the oversized boot but we guess we’ll just have to watch to find out.
