There are only 12 days between the release of Avengers: Endgame and Game of Thrones Season 8

Hell yes! The dates also propose a very interesting theory about Cersei and the major battles too.

If you’re looking to book any free time over the next few weeks, you may want to hold off on that request to HR because April is set to be the official month for geekdom.

Hell, we’re not complaining because now that we know Game of Thrones is returning on April 14, it’s time to start the countdown.

Of course, very other properties can rival HBO’s hit show in terms of devotion and love, unless it happens to be the MCU.

Yeah, Marvel fans are so devoted to those films that they’ll happily lineup for hours just to be the first people to see the latest entry and if you were one of the lucky people that saw Avengers: Infinity War at a midnight screening, you’ll know just how passionate fans of the MCU are.

All things considered, there’s a hell of a lot of love for Jon Snow, Tony Stark, Captain America, Arya Stark, Thanos (yep, really), The Night King (some people are actually rooting for him) and every other character in Westeros and the MCU, but fans are going to be in heaven this April because there’s only a 12 day period between the start of Season 8 and The Russo Brothers’ highly-anticipated followup to Infinity War.

As stated previously, Game of Thrones Season 8 will air on April 14, and Avengers: Endgame will premiere on April 26.

If that wasn’t enough to get you excited, an old interview from Vladimír Furdík (The Night King) has revealed that two of the biggest fights of 2019 might be closer than you think.

As stated previously, the battle between the Night King’s army of the dead and Jon/Daenerys alliance looks set to take place in the third episode of Season 8.

“In the third episode of the last season, there is a battle that the creators intended to be a historic moment in television,” he said a fan convention in Hungary, as translated by Mashable. “Almost the full episode will be about the battle; it will take about one hour.”

Granted, this hasn’t been officially confirmed but we’ll press ahead and do the maths.

This would mean that the third episode with the biggest battle in TV history, is set to air on May 5.

If this rumour is true, that would mean there’s only a nine day period between The Avengers’ final battle with Thanos (we presume the fate of the universe won’t be settled with a friendly chat) and the epic fight for The North between the living and the dead.

Given the fact that we’re firmly down the Game of Thrones rabbit hole, the schedule also offers an intriguing possibility regarding the fate of Queen Cersei.

To begin with, she clearly has enemies on every side with the White Walkers threatening every single person in the Seven Kingdoms but aside from this, she has also reneged on her promise to help Jon and Daenerys fight the army of the dead. We’ve a feeling that this treachery won’t go unpunished.

An additional reason why Cersei’s time might be up is the absence of Jaime from her side.

Aside from this, there’s the valonqar prophecy, the fact that Bran has seen a vision of a dragon flying over King’s Landing, and Dany’s vision of the Iron Throne covered in snow with the roof absolutely destroyed – presumably by dragon fire.

All things considered, things don’t look to well for the shrewdest player in the game of thrones.

On this note, Sunday, 12 May is Mother’s Day in the US and sadly for Cersei, that’s also the day that the penultimate episode of the show airs.

As we all know, the second last episode of every Game of Thrones season usually sees something major happening (Baelor, Blackwater, The Rains of Castamere (Red Wedding) The Watchers on The Wall, Battle of the Bastards, Beyond the Wall)

On another ominous note, Tywin Lannister was also killed on Father’s Day,

Of course, Cersei isn’t the only mother in the show that’s at risk. Just look at the title of her fiercest rival, The Mother of Dragons.

April is going to be a fun month!
