Fans of Orange Is The New Black were saddened earlier this year to learn that the upcoming seventh season of the popular Netflix drama is set to be the last.
But perhaps not.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Lionsgate TV Group chairman Kevin Begg said that there will eventually be a spin-off or "sequel" on the cards.
"We're really proud of the long run that Orange Is the New Black had," Beggs said during an earnings call. "It remains one of Netflix's most-watched shows. We're ending on a high note. Keep in mind we own that series and will be distributing it for years to come. We're already in discussions and, when the timing is right, we'll talk further about a potential sequel."
The show as we know it now is set to end in 2019, though no airdate has yet been revealed for Season 7.
Sadly that's the only detail we've got right now, so we're not sure which character's story we'll be learning more about.
But it's good to know that the story isn't really over yet.
