An awful situation.

Tom Hanks’ upcoming Fred Rogers biopic has been temporarily shut down while the death of a crew member is investigated.

Sound mixer James Emswiller, 61, was taking a smoke break on a balcony on set when other crew members reportedly heard a noise, and discovered that he had fallen from the balcony.

Production has been suspended on the movie as both authorities and Sony investigate Emswiller’s death, though at this time, it’s believed that Emswiller was alone on the balcony when he fell.

Emswiller is a very successful sound mixer with many credits to his name, including Avengers Assemble, The Fault in Our Stars and Foxcatcher. He won an Emmy in 2015 for his work on Queen Latifah series Bessie.

The Mr. Rogers biopic, titled You Are My Friend, is set to be released on November 1, 2019.
