Tom Hardy to star in Netflix’s new action thriller from the director of The Raid

Hardy + The Raid Director = Action Movie Heaven.

This seems like a perfect match, doesn’t it?

The Raid is one of the most loved action movies of recent years, while its brutal sequel is an epic Godfather-esque tale of crime and corruption, but with loads more kicks to the face.

Director Gareth Evans really knows how to put an action movie together, and for his new project, titled Havoc, he’s teaming up with Tom Hardy, one of the most impressively physical actors working today.

As reported by Deadline, the plot of their new movie is as follows:

“The story is set after a drug deal gone wrong, when a bruised detective must fight his way through a criminal underworld to rescue a politician’s estranged son, while unraveling a deep web of corruption and conspiracy that ensnares his entire city.”

Havoc is the first of several movies that Evans with produce and/or direct as part of his brand new exclusivity deal with Netflix, which will be the home for his projects for the foreseeable future.

Meanwhile, before he gets to work on that movie, we’ll next see Tom Hardy in comic-book sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage, which is currently scheduled to be released this June.
