Monday night viewing.

Claire Byrne Live returns to our screens tonight with an episode that looks set to stir up plenty of discussion.

The show has revealed that tonight’s episode will be asking: Is it time for a United Ireland?

Joining Byrne to discuss this will be Taoiseach Micheál Martin, Tánaiste Leo Varadkar and Sinn Féin President Mary Lou McDonald.

Other guests on the show, meanwhile, will include Northern Irish former sportsmen Andrew Trimble and Joe Brolly and politicians Ian Paisley Jr and Naomi Long.

Support for the concept of a united Ireland is said to have grown following Northern Ireland leaving the European Union as part of Brexit.

Prior to the episode, Claire Byrne Live asked 1,000 adults how they would vote in a poll on a united Ireland.

According to the survey, 53% said they would vote yes to reunification, while 19% stated they would vote no.

28% said they were unsure how they would vote.

For more results from the poll and a discussion on the topic of a united Ireland, tune into Claire Byrne Live tonight at 9.35pm on RTÉ One.
