She’s back.
2014’s Maleficent proved to be a massive hit as audiences loved the backstory of the “evil” fairy who set in motion the chain of events that would become the beloved Sleeping Beauty tale.
Well, the first trailer for the sequel has just been released and Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil looks set to take the tale in a whole new direction.
Angelina Jolie is back in the main role and Elle Fanning returns to play Aurora.
Among the new cast additions are Ed Skrein as a villain and Michelle Pfeiffer as Queen Ingrith, who looks set to be someone who will take on Maleficent.
To be honest, you can never have too much Michelle Pfeiffer in any film.
Plot’s it all about?: The fantasy adventure picks up several years after Maleficent, in which audiences learned of the events that hardened the heart of Disney’s most notorious villain and drove her to curse a baby Princess Aurora.
The film continues to explore the complex relationship between the horned fairy and the soon-to-be Queen as they form new alliances and face new adversaries in their struggle to protect the moors and the magical creatures that reside within.
