#TRAILERCHEST: Anne Hathaway controls a giant city-destroying monster in Colossal

Rory Cashin

If you found out you kinda had a pet Godzilla, what would you do?

Welcome to #TrailerChest, where we’re taking a sneak peek at the brand new trailer for Colossal.

Plot’s it all about?

Gloria (Hathaway) is not having a good time of it right now. Dumped by her boyfriend (Stevens), with no job and nowhere to live, she finds herself on the brink of a complete nervous breakdown. Then one day she’s hanging out with her friend Oscar (Sudekis) and they see that a Godzilla-type monster is flattering the Asian skyline one city at a time. Oh, and it looks like it is mimicking Gloria’s every move from tens of thousands of miles away. Could she be controlling the beast? Are they connected in some way?

From the demented genius mind behind the fantastic cult thriller Timecrimes (seriously, seek it out if you haven’t already), this has a great cast, a great concept, and is already getting great reviews, with Time Out London saying “For better and worse, you won’t have seen a movie like Colossal before, and you won’t again. And that, in itself, is a strong recommendation.”

Starring: Anne Hathaway, Jason Sudekis, Dan Stevens, Tim Blake Nelson

Directed by: Nacho Vigalondo

Irish release date: TBC (the US release is April 7 so we imagine it won’t be too much longer after that)

Enjoy…
