#TRAILERCHEST: The official full-length trailer for TOY STORY 4 features the most violent moments in the franchise’s history

Carl Kinsella

Toy Story 4

You’ve got a friend in me…

Nine years since the most recent instalment of the Toy Story franchise, which saw Woody and the gang bid goodbye to Andy, we’re finally ready for Toy Story 4.

Now in the custody of Bonnie, the Toy Story toys are tasked with protecting a new toy – Forky – who appears to be a spork with eyes and profound anxiety problems.

The stakes are higher than ever as Forky, voiced by Tony Hale of Arrested Development, appears to be kidnapped and under existential threat. The trailer suggests the film will follow the formula of the previous Toy Story chapters, with all the toys teaming up to rescue one of their buddies. This time with the help of Duke Caboom, a stunt-devil toy voiced by Keanu Reeves.

How does it look? Amazing. In just two-minutes there is more joyous design, fun, and disturbing violence that’s more Tarantino than Toy Story. One plushy toy is ripped in half by a cat, and Ducky and Bunny (voiced by Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key) fantasise about attacking an old lady. We cannot wait.

CAST: Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Keanu Reeves, Joan Cusack, Annie Potts, Tony Hale, Jon Ratzenberger, Blake Clark, Wallace Shawn, Michael Keaton, Christina Hendricks, Don Rickles.

DIRECTOR: Josh Cooley (Inside Out)

IRISH RELEASE DATE: June 21
