#TRAILERCHEST: Sarah Connor brings the pain in the first look at Terminator Dark Fate

Terminator Dark Fate

She’s back… and so is Arnie.

In the aftermath of James Cameron’s iconic Terminator 2: Judgment Day, it’s fair to say that the next films in the time-travelling killer robot saga suffered from the law of diminishing returns.

Honestly, if you thought too much about the timelines in the Terminator franchise, your head would be so wrecked that you’d want to be lowered into some molten lava.

However, we’re optimistic that the next film, Terminator Dark Fate, will be a return to form because James Cameron is back as a producer, Arnie’s here (of course he is!), and Linda Hamilton is returning to play the iconic Sarah Connor.

FYI, this film ignores the events of of Rise Of The Machines, Salvation, and Genisys which is a good thing because, you know,  Sarah Connor was killed off in T3.

To make things even better, the director of Deadpool (Tim Miller) is the man that’s responsible for this one.

Plot’s it all about?:  The details are still being kept under wraps but the first trailer shows us Gabriel Luna’s new Terminator. We’re really liking the fact that he has both a jet-black endoskeleton and a T-1000-style liquid metal outer layer.

Aside from this, there’s a lovely throwback to the ‘crossroads’ imagery that Cameron used in T2 and we also get a look at Mackenzie Davis’s character, Grace.

There’s a strong Sarah Connor vibe from her too although she’s not exactly a Terminator, not is she a human.

Cast: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Mackenzie Davis, Natalia Reyes, Gabriel Luna, and Diego Boneta.

Director: Tim Miller.

Release date: 23 October.
