Diana, Our Mother: Her Legacy and Life looks set to be one of the documentaries that everyone will want to see, and then talk about the next day.

Having been screening via HBO in America and ITV in the UK, the documentary will now be shown on TV3 on Monday 31 July at 9pm.

The documentary focuses on Prince William and Prince Harry, and their memories of their mother, and the lasting effect she had on their lives, especially as this is the 20 year anniversary of Diana’s death.

There have already been some very interesting points made about some of the conversations that their memories of their mother spur up, including talking about the paparazzi, who were known for notoriously hounding Diana, and who many believe were the direct cause of her death.

In the documentary, Prince William says: “One lesson I’ve learned is, you never let them in too far because it’s very difficult to get them back out again. You’ve got to maintain a barrier and a boundary.”

There is also some interesting parts of conversation left out, when William says: “So, I do regularly when putting George or Charlotte to bed, talk about her and just try and remind them that there are two grandmothers — there were two grandmothers — in their lives. So, it’s important that they know who she was and that she existed.”

Which would seem to indicate that he views his mother Diana and Kate’s mother Carole Middleton and their kids grandmothers, but perhaps not his stepmother Camilla?

Definitely some interesting talking points once it has aired in a few days time.
