Two big new Netflix shows and four more trailers you might have missed this week

One of the shows is out next month.

Another seven days, another batch of trailers for upcoming movies and shows to obsess over.

In particular, it was a big week in terms of TV, with Netflix dropping first looks at two exciting, upcoming series coming to the streamer.

Without further ado, here’s our roundup.

Inventing Anna

Inspired by a true story, this show sees a journalist with a lot to prove investigate the case of Anna Delvey (Ozark’s Julia Garner), the Instagram-legendary German heiress who stole the hearts of New York’s social scene – and stole their money as well.

From Shonda Rhimes of Bridgerton and Scandal fame, Inventing Anna looks set to be a hit when it lands on Netflix on 11 February, 2022.

The Silent Sea

Set in a future Earth that has undergone desertification, The Silent Sea focuses on members of a special team sent to secure a mysterious sample from an abandoned research facility on the moon.

Starring Bae Doona of Sense8 fame, can The Silent Sea continue Netflix’s hot streak of South Korean thrillers following Squid Game and Hellbound?

People can find out when it drops on Christmas Eve.

Ray Donovan: The Movie

Concluding a storyline seven seasons in the making, Ray Donovan: The Movie will see Liev Schreiber back as the title character and professional fixer.

It has not got an Irish release date but will premiere in the States in January.

Bel-Air

Ever wanted a dramatic, grittier reboot of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air? If so, this series is for you.

Again, it does not have an Irish release date but it should arrive in 2022.

Euphoria Season 2

One of the most hard-hitting and stylish shows of recent years, Euphoria is returning soon for more teen drama.

Starring the great Zendaya of Dune and Spider-Man fame, its second season is set to air weekly from 10 January on Sky Atlantic and the streaming service NOW.

DC League of Super-Pets

The first of two upcoming DC projects starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson (the other being Black Adam), he will voice Krypto – Superman’s dog – in this animation.

When the Justice League are captured by Lex Luthor, the dog forms a team of shelter pets who were given superpowers.

It will be released in Irish cinemas in May.
