Fancy bringing your dog to the cinema? You can now!
Dogs, popcorn, cinema.
It sounds like the perfect date night for some people but then again, do you think your dog can sit still and behave while you enjoy the movie? We doubt it!
Anyway, to mark the release of Wes Anderson’s new film, Isle of Dogs, various cinemas around the UK are hosting a retrospective season to celebrate the work of the auteur director and the main attraction is the fact that you can bring your dog to watch his new movie, Isle of Dogs.
Granted, we highly recommend a viewing of Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Grand Budapest Hotel and every other Anderson film too, but you can’t bring your dog to those ones!
It’s a ruff crowd.
Anyways, we became alerted to this screening after The Cameo cinema in Edinburgh invited customers to bring their “well-behaved dogs” to a preview on Sunday 25 March.
After further investigation, it appears that the majority of the following cinemas are also providing the same offer. Basically, the cinema will supply any dog owners with water bowls and a blanket so your dog can sit on the seat that’s next to you.
Again, it’s worth checking with each individual cinema to see if tickets are available, but these cinemas appear to be hosting the dog-friendly screening:

As for the film, Isle of Dogs tells the story of Atari Kobayashi , 12-year-old ward to corrupt Mayor Kobayashi. When, by Executive Decree, all the canine pets of Megasaki City are exiled to a vast garbage-dump called Trash Island, Atari sets off alone in a miniature Junior-Turbo Prop and flies across the river in search of his bodyguard-dog, Spots. There, with the assistance of a pack of newly-found mongrel friends, he begins an epic journey that will decide the fate and future of the entire Prefecture.
