We BET you that this film is going to be great. Ha! (Sorry.)
Directed by the talented Rupert Wyatt (The Escapist, Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes) and starring Marky Mark Wahlberg (minus his Funky Bunch), The Gambler is a remake of the James Caan-starring 1974 film of the same name.
You know the drill; man (Walhberg as Jim Bennett) loves gambling, man wins loads while gambling, man then loses loads while gambling, man borrows money from gangsters for more gambling, gangsters don’t like the way man is gambling, hilarity ensues.
OK, so maybe hilarity doesn’t ensue, but this is still a damn fine trailer which has a much skinnier-than-usual Wahlberg looking like he’s raided Bob Dylan’s wardrobe in the hope that another Oscar nomination will come his way.
And, as if you needed even more convincing, The Gambler also stars big, baldy, good guy John Goodman as a big, baldy, bad guy who likes to say “f*ck you” a lot. What more do you want?
